Corporator names Samadhan Sarvankar is son of senior Shiv Sena leader Sada Sarvankar, is organising a blood donation camp in association with a hospital.
In an interesting and lucrative offer for blood donation, a Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) corporator is encouraging people to donate blood against which they would get 1 kg of either chicken or paneer according to their choice. The donation camp has been kept on December 13th at Rajabhau Maidan, New Prabhadevi road.
The camp will be held between 10 am to 2 pm and potential donors will have to register before December 11. So far, more than 300 donors have registered, while the target is set for around 1000 units of blood.
Samadhan is said to have said that, “I was reading World Health Organisation’s (WHO) website that poultry and dairy products are a good source of protein and vitamins, besides being immunity boosters so the idea of distributing chicken and paneer struck me to invite more people to donate blood.”
