Hathras victim was gang-raped: CBI in charge sheet

Hathras:  The CBI court today charged four of gang rape and torture to a Dalit woman in Hathras of Uttarpradesh in September after three months of the incident, said sources.


CBI has also invoked charges under SC-ST (Prevention of Atrocities) Act against the accused. Hathras which is around 200km from national capital Delhi witnessed this incident in the month of September. CBI filed its charge sheet in Hathras today.  

It should be noted that the 20-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by the four men from the so-called upper caste community in Hathras on September 14. She later succumbed to her injuries at a hospital in Delhi. On September 30 she was cremated near her home.
