National Forensic Sciences University organizing the All-India Forensic Science Summit

National Forensic Sciences University, under the aegis of the Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, is organizing the All-India Forensic Science Summit (AIFSS) on ‘The Role of Forensic Science in Effective Implementation of New Criminal Laws and Combating Terrorism’ from 14th to 15th April 2025, at Vigyan Bhawan, Delhi. Hon’ble Minister of Home Affairs and Minister of Cooperation, Government of India, Amit Shah, will inaugurate the Summit as a Chief Guest. Hon’ble Justice Rajesh Bindal, Judge Supreme Court of India; R Venkataramani, Attorney General of India; Hon’ble Justice V Ramasubramanian; Chairperson NHRC; Manan Kumar Mishra, Chairman Bar Council of India and Govind Mohan, Union Home Secretary will grace the Summit Inauguration Ceremony.

On 13th April 2025, two events will be held simultaneously at Vigyan Bhawan – Film Forensics Symposium and Forensic Hackathon. Padma Awardee Hema Malini, Hon’ble Member of Parliament, will be the Chief Guest, and Prasoon Joshi, Chairperson Central Board of Film Certification, Bollywood Star Suniel Shetty, Actor Sharad Kelkar, and Narendra Gupta will be the Special Guests of the Symposium.

Padma Awardee Dr J M Vyas, Vice Chancellor of NFSU, emphasized the need to bridge Silver Screen with Forensic Science to optimize criminal investigations and justice using the power of cinema through the World’s First “Film Forensics Symposium”. The Hackathon will bring together experts in forensic sciences, cybersecurity, and related domains, while the Film Forensics symposium will showcase forensic research and crime investigation through compelling, scientifically accurate stories. The summit will host over 1,600 experts, including judges, law enforcement officials, researchers, students, and industry specialists.

Dr. Vyas further said that the three-day events aim to revolutionize the criminal justice delivery ecosystem, bringing together multi-stakeholder perspectives to tackle challenges and explore forensic science and judicial systems breakthroughs. Through dynamic panel discussions and technical sessions, the event will spotlight the vital role of scientific evidence in boosting conviction rates and fortifying legal frameworks, paving the way for a more efficient and equitable justice system.
