Mark Dr. B.R. Ambedkar’s 134th Birth Anniversary: Gujarat CM Bhupendra Patel Flags Off Nagar Yatra in Ahmedabad

To commemorate the 134th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel flagged off a grand Nagar Yatra in Ahmedabad on Sunday.

The procession was organized by the Dr. Ambedkar Gaurav Nagar Yatra Mahotsav Samiti in the Rakhial area. Chief Minister Patel officially launched the event by performing the flag-off ceremony from the main stage.

Prior to the start of the yatra, the Chief Minister paid floral tributes to a portrait of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, honoring him as the architect of the Indian Constitution and a Bharat Ratna awardee. He described Dr. Ambedkar as a towering figure in India’s social justice movement and an enduring inspiration for the nation.

During the vibrant procession, the Chief Minister interacted warmly with participants, including local citizens, youth performers presenting thematic tableaus, and children dressed in traditional and cultural attire. His presence added great enthusiasm and significance to the celebrations.

The event was also graced by prominent dignitaries including Ahmedabad Mayor Pratibhaben Jain, MLAs Amit Shah and Dinesh Kushwaha, MP Dinesh Makwana, and BJP State Vice President Gordhan Zadafia, among others.

The Nagar Yatra served as a celebration of Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy and a powerful reminder of the values of equality, justice, and democracy that he championed throughout his life.
